Does Trin-Brook Stable charge management fees?
No, we never charge management fees.
Who select the horses?
We
have an experience team, with proven success in the selection
of top-quality racehorses. Our trainer has selected many winners
over
the years, including several stake winners.
How much does a horse cost?
Prices vary, but Trin-Brook Stable operates at the
$10,000 level
and up. We feel this offers our clients their best opportunity for
success and a better return on their investment.
What
are the monthly expenses?
A thoroughbred cost $36,000 a year to keep in training at a major
racetrack in the U.S. This is
why it makes more sense to invest in
horses at higher claiming prices. The related expenses are the
same at all levels but higher quality
thoroughbreds run for much
higher purse money.
What are the risk involved in thoroughbred ownership?
Equine athletes, like
human athletes are susceptible to injury. Some of the risk can be avoided with proper management but is never eliminated.
Should
I buy a larger piece of one horse or smaller pieces of
several horses?
The rule is diversification. Just like stock market, the
risk of
thoroughbred ownership lessens with purchasing smaller shares of more horses than a larger share of a single horse.
What
input do partners have in decision making?
Input is welcome and encouraged from partners. Our goals are to
keep the lines of communication open at all times. The trainer
re-
serve the right to make the final decision on all racing matters, but
will work with partners during this process. Other
topics not directly
related to daily racing operations are decided by the majority vote
of the partners.
Do owner require
a license to race?
Yes, a license is required for every owner that owns 5% or more of
a thoroughbred. A license is required in
each state that the horse
or horses race.
What are the benefits of thoroughbred ownership?
Ownership affords you full access
to the stable area, paddock
privileges, free admission and seating. Also if we are lucky a
visit to the winner's circle for a
picture with your winning horse!
